Accessibility
Florida VOAD wants this site to work for everyone, including during a disaster, on an old phone, with a weak signal, and with assistive technology.
What we do
- Built to WCAG 2.1 Level AA: headings, landmarks, form labels, and a logical keyboard focus order on every page type.
- Status is never conveyed by color alone; the word is always present.
- The county map has a text equivalent: the county list on the Counties page and the county filter on the Members page.
- Pages work with JavaScript off and without the web fonts.
- Light and dark themes with text contrast of at least 4.5:1. Motion respects your system's reduced-motion setting.
- Documents in the resource library are PDFs; we ask members to upload tagged, text-based PDFs rather than scans.
Languages
Pages are translated into Spanish and Haitian Creole when they are published; where a translation is available, the language links are at the bottom of the page. Other pages can be translated in your browser.
Tell us
If something on this site does not work for you, write to info@flvoad.org with the page and what happened. We fix accessibility problems ahead of other work.
